We are, Maninoa Community Care Trust Inc

  • We cater for MH service users around the wider Wellington area, referred to us by the MH Service Coordination Team - Capital & Coast DHB

Our Name

The word Maninoa is an adjective of the Samoan word Manino, which means clear, limpid, obvious, transparent and peaceful. The word Maninoa is normally used when e.g. describing a clear and peaceful morning / dawn or a clear, still calm night.

Our name demonstrates our passion, behaviour and the way we work.

Our Mission

"To provide cultural, social and spiritually appropriate residential care, rehabilitation and other services for those with mental disabilities, youth and families - thus empowering them in a positive and comfortable environment that is compassionate and consumer oriented."

The Services we Provide:

Maninoa is contracted by the Capital and Coast District Health Board to provide the following services for people with mental illness:

Residential Rehabilitation MH Services (Adult)

Maninoa provides a residential rehabilitation and support service for people with psychiatric disabilities assessed at care levels 3 & 4. The emphasis is for residents to become well again, progressing towards independent living and/or their own level of recovery.

Pacific Planned & Crisis Respite Care Services

This is a home-based prevention option especially for those who would otherwise need inpatient mental health service. Respite care may be planned for a short-term care period.
