About Us
Capital and Coast DHB is one of 21 District Health Boards in New Zealand. We serve a population of 265,000 people of which 8% are Pacific but 26% of our Pacific Population resides in Porirua.
Capital Coast DHB is governed by a Board made up of elected and Ministerial appointed members, chaired by Sir John Anderson and led by our Chief Executive Officer Ken Whelan.
We have a Pacific Directorate led by our Director Lee Pearce. The role of the Directorate is to advise, plan and fund activities and initiatives for Pacific that will lead to change. The Directorate has also a Pacific branch at the hospital known as the Pacific Health Unit which help patients journey through admission to discharged.
The Pacific Directorate has close relationships with our Pacific Communities, across government and intersectoral agencies and mainstream Providers.
